Meet the Speekers

Len is a general dental practitioner, foundation trainer, practice owner, and Head of Indemnity at the British Dental Association (BDA). He runs a successful seven-surgery mixed NHS/private practice in Woodford Green, North East London, and has over 21 years' experience as a dento-legal advisor, supporting dentists with complaints, regulatory matters, clinical negligence claims, and risk management.

Len has extensive expertise in the dento-legal aspects of dentistry and is a recognised authority on consent, record keeping, clinical negligence, risk management, NHS dentistry, and NHS contract reform. He is Lead Lecturer on the MA in Dental Law and Ethics at the University of Bedfordshire, where he teaches dental law and ethics to postgraduate students.

A respected author and educator, Len has written and co-authored Understanding NHS Dentistry and Legal Aspects of General Dental Practice (Churchill Livingstone), and has contributed legal and ethical chapters to numerous textbooks, peer-reviewed journals, websites, and professional publications. He also serves on the Editorial Board of Dental Update magazine.

Len lectures extensively across the UK and internationally through conferences and webinars, regularly sharing his expertise on dento-legal issues, NHS regulations, and clinical governance. He holds both dental and legal qualifications, bringing a unique perspective to the legal and ethical challenges faced by dental professionals.
